I have been working as a freelance translator since 2007, mainly translating legal documents, insurance contracts and policies as well as medical reports.

I originally did a joint honours degree in Law and German graduating in 2001. As part of my degree I spent a year studying law and Innsbruck University. I worked as a paralegal whilst studying for my Legal Practice Course and qualified as a solicitor in 2004. Most of my work was in civil litigation, particularly personal injury, clinical negligence and accidents at work. I also worked in family law and probate.

After leaving the legal profession I did an MA in Translation in a European Context. For my master’s degree I studied both German and French.
